1. وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ
86|1|By the sky and at-Tariq.
2. وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ
86|2|But what will let you know what at-Tariq is?
3. النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ
86|3|The Piercing Star.
4. إِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86|4|There is no soul without a Protector over it.
5. فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86|5|Let man consider what he was created from.
6. خُلِقَ مِنْ مَاءٍ دَافِقٍ
86|6|He was created from gushing liquid.
7. يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ
86|7|Issuing from between the backbone and the breastbones.
8. إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ
86|8|He is certainly able to return him.
9. يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ
86|9|On the Day when the secrets are disclosed.
10. فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86|10|He will have no strength, and no supporter.
11. وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ
86|11|By the sky that returns.
12. وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ
86|12|And the earth that cracks open.
13. إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86|13|It is a Decisive Word.
14. وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ
86|14|It is no joke.
15. إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86|15|They plot and scheme.
16. وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86|16|But I plot and scheme.
17. فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا
86|17|Therefore, give the blasphemers respite, a brief respite.
