    PICK UP

    To pick up something or somebody (or pick something or somebody up) is to lift something or somebody by using your hands.

    Examples of use:

    1. She picked the children’s clothes up off the floor.
    2. He picked up his suitcase and put it in the boot of the car.
    3. The baby was crying so she picked her up.
